Regular Board Meeting Monday, September 9, 2019
6:30 p.m. in the Health Department Office, 997 N. York Street, Martinsville, IL
The Clark County Board of Health met Monday, September 9, 2019 in the Health Department Office for their regular meeting. The meeting was called to order at 6:32 p.m. with the following board members responding to roll call: Cheryl Bennett, John Hammond, Carla Honselman, Dr. Amy James, Dr. John Richards and Cheryl Shull were present. Dr. Hildebrand and Greg Hosch were absent.
The board members reviewed the minutes of the July 22, 2019 meeting with Dr. James moving to approve the minutes as submitted. John Hammond seconded the motion with unanimous board approval.
Officers and administrator’s reports were given by Cathy Hayden, Administrator, noting that vaping has become an issue at the state level. She also reported mental health was identified as an unmet need in Clark County Health Needs Assessment. She is working with resources to address a need for Mental Health Professionals.
No committee reports.
August expenses and September 2019 claims list were reviewed. Dr James moved to approve as presented with Carla Honselman seconding the motion which passed unanimously.
No New Business
Old Business: The administrator presented and reviewed two options for the 2020 budget to the board. After discussion, Carla Honselman moved to approve the budget with a health department fund of $120,000.00. Cheryl Shull seconded the motion with all board members voting in favor and Dr. Richards abstaining.
No public present for comments and no executive session was needed.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:08 p.m.
